This morning was a horrible dark and wet and it doesn't seem to be getting any lighter or drier. I decided to start the day with some baking. Date and Walnut loaf, one of Alan's favourites.
While the tempting aroma wafted in from the kitchen I sat and did some cross stitching but I can't reveal this yet as it is part of one of the swaps I am doing.
I'm also in a Tote Bag swap over at Lia's Handmades I can show what I'm doing on this one. I've been busy sewing hexagons together. Very therapeutic.
I'm hoping to get the bag finished by the weekend. That's if I don't get too many distractions.

Baking is perfect for a day like today.
ReplyDeleteThose hexies look wonderful and are the most PERFECT colours! ;-)
More yummy baking - lucky Alan! Pretty hexies too, I'm thinking I really need to get a hexie project started for the winter too.

Mmm, that cake looks tasty...and the hexies are so sunny, just what we need on this rainy day! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteOh Yum, I'm sure Alan was very grateful for your lovely efforts! My Mum used to bake a gorgeous date and walnut loaf too, so memories come flooding back; you can't beat that homely aroma of 'baking' spreading through the house can you! I love your hexes and your colour combinations are just right Melanie.

ReplyDeleteHow did the bread loafs turn out? They look delicious!
I hope you have a great week,
Tammy
