FNWF

It's that time of the month again when Cheryll hosts FNWF and we all get down to a little or alot of crafting.
I've been busy making bunting for the garden during the day, but in the evening I was finishing off the last bits for my Christmas In July swap which I'll blog about when my partner has received them.
I also got a lovely bouquet of flowers from my DH which was totally unexpected. I love the flowers in the teapot they look beautiful on the landing at the top of the stairs.

Why not pop over to Cheryll's and see what we all got up to.

I'm still here :)

It's been so long since I last posted, I thought I might have forgotten how to! But I haven't so that's all good.
I haven't been doing mush sewing but my hook has been busy.
I've finished the throw for my bedroom chair as my old Ted really approves. He's told me it's very warm when the nights are a little chilly. I love my Ted he's always been with me through thick and thin. I can't ever remember not having him and I'd be distraught if anything ever happened to him. He's only got one eye and he had to have new felt paws last year. But he's not doing too bad for 47.
I think a woman's best friend is her Ted!

I used three colours from the WI range of yarn at Hobbycraft it's lovely to work with and one of my favourite yarns at the minute. It was my first attempt at V stitch and I love it, it crochets up so quickly.
.........................................

I've joined a couple of Swaps this week too.

2015 Dishcloth/Mug Rug Swap over at Creative Chaos hosted by the lovely Kimberley.
and
The 2015 Santa Sack Swap hosted by Cheryll from Gone Stitchin'
Why not pop over and have a look. Maybe join in too.

Hope you're having a great week

FNWF-Hexi Time

Last night was FNWF hosted by the wonderful Cheryll.
The night wouldn't have been complete without a little something sweet. So I baked up a batch of Brownies and had one with a cup of tea. They were super rich so I only had the one.(How restrained! Not like me at all!)
Back to the sewing.

I've had these hexi flowers for ages, so during the week I decided I was going to spend the Bank Holiday weekend putting them together.
I started in the afternoon and carried on until late evening. I really enjoyed doing them as I haven't done any English Paper Piecing for ages.
I'm off to a Needle Felting Workshop tomorrow and it's a couple of hours away, but as I'm not driving it will give me chance to make some more flowers :)
...........
This week I've also made this super cute Hexi pincushion/caddy.
You can find free tutorial over at Penny's Hands.

The only change I made was when it came to filling it. I used rice to give it some weight and I also left the 2 opposite sides open instead of 1 which made it a lot easier to fill.

Why not pop over to Cheryll's blog and see what everyone got up to.

Have a great weekend.

Beautiful Bag Swap

This is my latest finish.
It was for a Tote Bag Swap organised by the wonderful Lia from Lia's Handmades. I love doing this swap, as I don't make bags very often.
The pattern I used was a free one by Amy @ My 3 Monsters. It's different to any other bag I've made and I was quite reluctant to part with it, but I did :(  On the bright side my partner loved it so thats all good :)
I was lucky enough to receive this wonderful bag from Rose Along with lots of other goodies she sent 2 alternative belts for around the middle. I haven't stopped using it since it arrived. I was truly spoiled. Thank you very much Rose.
I've also started to crochet a throw for the chair in my bedroom. I chose these fabulous summery colours from the WI range at Hobbycraft. It's not too big so it shouldn't take too long to finish. I'm not looking forward to weaving all the ends in, it's not my favourite job.
I had a visitor in my sewing room yesterday. This beautiful Peacock butterfly fluttered in and landed not far from my work.
It's nice to see that summer is on it's way and the weather this week has been lovely. I'm not sure if it's going to last, but we can hope.

Have a lovely weekend!

FNWF

I joined Cheryll and the other girls last night for her monthly Friday Night With Friends.
Last week I decided to pull one of my UFO's out. I've had it on the go for years. Kim Diehl's Bunny Table runner.
I looked at it and decided that the Suffolk puffs that I had sewn on were a bit much. So in the week they were the first thing to come off. I did a bit of rearranging of the ones around the edge and I'm now a lot happier with how it looks.
Last night the binding went on so it's all finished now and will have pride of place on the table on Easter Sunday, all ready for our family get together.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter and don't over indulge too much with the goodies the Easter Bunny leaves.
