My Summer Garden

I thought I would show a few pictures of my Patio Garden.
It has been a task on it's own to keep it watered.
The hot weather is set to continue in this area, we are to get a few thunderstorms but nothing as bad as they going to get in the south. They have been given flood warnings, I hope they are not too badly affected.

  I love my bunting!

My Hosta's are doing wonderfully

My freshly painted Chimnea.

I have been doing some hand sewing but this is as much as I can show as it's for a Bloggie friends gift!

The biggest job of the week was tidying me sewing room. It had been left and left until I could bare it no more. It took my a whole day to get it looking presentable. I don't want to get it in that state again.

Swap Gifts

I recently did a private swap with Leanne from Lizzie The Quilter These are the lovely gifts I received.
A beautiful needle case, crochet flowers, charms squares and some yummy chocolate which didn't last very long but was delicious.

These are the gift I sent. I made a small Blue Bird tote from Cinderberry Stitches.
I really liked it I may have to make one for myself.

I really enjoyed doing the swap and a big thank you to Leanne for being a great partner.

What A Busy Week

It's been all go this week as its the last week of school, there are lots of performances and bags full of things from school to find homes for. The heat has been really oppressive. I wanted to get some sewing done but not much of that has happened.

I did have a trip to our new Hobbycraft. I bought this lovely calico wool and I've started to crochet some Granny Triangle Bunting. I love the look of the bunting and can't wait to get it finished. (only done a couple so far though.)

As most of the plants in our back garden are in pots I have spent alot of time watering them in the evenings. I found a novel way of cooling myself down too.

So refreshing.........

Christmas QAL - Part 1

I thought I would start the weekend off with some baking, so there were goodies for afternoon tea when I had a break from my sewing.

I made some really scrumptious Chocolate Chip and Banana Muffins. They were scrumptious, with a cup of tea. I made sure that I froze half of them or they would have been gone in a flash.

So far I have managed to get the Mitten ? ( I still haven't decided what it's going to be.) appliqued and pieced together so now I just have to put the borders on and quilt it.

I have also finished a swap gift. I'll post about that when the swap is over. I'll mail that tomorrow so that is another thing off the check list.

Well back to the sewing machine.

My Beach Hut

We've had a glorious few weeks and it looks as if it is set to say that way. While it was sunny I thought I would get my shed and Lily's playhouse painted.
I decided to have a bit of fun with them so they set to become sheds disguised as Beach Huts.

It was a case of do a block of colour and then duck in for a while to get out of the scorching heat, our back garden is like an oven when the sun is out. It got done eventually though even if it took a little longer than I had hoped.

The big shed is done apart from a sign for the door and Lily's house is going to be done on Monday. I really liked how they look so all the work was worth it in the end.

This weekend I am joining in with the Christmas QAL. The lovely Hazel is hosting this month so why not pop over and see what is happening.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

FNWF

What a lovely sunny day it is today . I thought I would update you on the result of my Friday Night With Friends.
It was so hot last night I decided I would have a lovely long glass of Cider as I was sewing to cool me down.
I managed to get a couple of things done.

A thimble pip that will be going into my gift box.

I also made these three blocks. I'm using them for a runner for my blanket chest. I'm hoping to finish it at some point this week.

I love the crisp clean look of the block. I'm not sure what colour to use for the borders any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

I hope everyone who joined in had a productive evening.

My New Tote Bag

The Postie came a knocking this morning and in his hand he had a parcel. For ME  :)

It was my Secret Tote Bag .

I couldn't wait to tear the paper from round it. Inside the box there was a lovely bag.

I love the colours Janice used. I bought a new dress last week but I didn't have a bag to go with it. Now I do thank you Janice.

I'm off to get things ready for tonight's FNWF.

Bye for now.
