Crochet Blanket

I haven't been doing much sewing over the last week or so as it's the school holidays and I've been busy entertaining Lily. So far we have been roller skating and gardening and to the cinema to see Epic in 3D. Tomorrow we are off for a big spend at one of my favourite fabric shops. I'm sure Lily will help me spend as we are redecorating her bedroom, and no doubt we will see some fabric that would look lovely in there.

I have been doing my crochet though. This is the first time I have done granny squares. I didn't know there were so many ways of joining them together but I found one that I liked on YouTube. What would we do without that site!

Don't look to closely as it is not faultless ;)

Bunting

It was my sisters birthday a week ago and instead of buying her a gift she asked me if I would make her some lilac bunting for her garden. So here it is all made and ready to go.

Just as I was making it, in wandered Lily "Oooo mummy I like that! Could you please make me some for my playhouse?" Just when I thought I had nearly finished. O well looks like I'm going to be busy!

I bought this pattern early last year and thought I could get it done for Halloween last year haahaa! I have made a concerted effort to get it started this year. The outer blocks are well on there way to being done but its a juggling act as I really want to get on with my Celebrating Freedom quilt. I need a timetable I think!

I hope the weather is going to return to how it was last weekend It was lovely and warm with just a gentle breeze. I managed to get quite alot of gardening done! Splitting hosta's, I think I may well be over run by them this summer but I do love them. We also painted the fence which I didn't realize was so big. It took a day and a half to give it two coats. There is still about 12 ft to paint but I have Coal Tits nesting in a box on the fence so that section will have to wait until they fly the nest! I chose Willow for the fences and I think I am going to paint the sheds cream with blue/grey doors. That won't happen until the end of the the month as I'm a little busy until then.

My climbing Hydrangea is doing alot better this year it didn't like the weather last year.

I have cut out all the pieces for my Celebrating freedom Quilt for my bed and have been hiding out in my craft room whenever I get chance. Which isn't as often as I would like, but every little helps.

These are a few of the blocks I have made so far.

I'm off to the cricket now. I hope you all have a productive Sunday and Happy Mothers Day to all of you in Australia, Canada and USA.

FNWF

I had big plans for Friday Night With Friends it was the first time I had taken part in Cheryll's get together.
I did get some sewing done but not as much as I was hoping, as I had some unexpected visitors. At least they didn't stay too long.
I finished one of my Swap items and did quite a bit more of my Winter Cross Stitch by Waxing Moon.
I haven't got too much left to do so I will hopefully get it finished by the end of the Bank Holiday.

I hope you all had a productive Friday.

Canvas Notice Board

I hope you have all had a good week.

I had a canvas print that I was going to throw out, but then I thought why not turn it into a notice board for my Craft Room. I've decided to use it to display the cards I have received from my lovely friends in Blogland!
I wadded it and then sewed the buttons into place. I love the finished effect.

I made some yummy Lemon Drizzle Cake but that didn't last very long, it was very nice though.

As promised here are some of my favourite photos that I took at the show on Saturday.

I loved this washing line quilt the work was exquisite

The embroidery on this quilt was amazing!
