Initial Heart Swap Goodies

This morning Mr Postman came a knocking and in his bag he had a parcel for me. It was from my secret partner in Cheryll's Initial Heart Swap. Who I now know is Judith from Germany. Thank you so much they are lovely.

In the parcel was the cutest valentine postman which will be going on my valentine shelf next week. A card.
A marzipan chocolate heart which didn't last very long, but was super tasty. Mmmmm

And finally a beautiful cross-stitched heart with my initials on. I love it .

I posted my parcel out last week to my partner. When she receives it I will post the photos.
I hope you have all had a great weekend.

Cosy Baking Day

It's snowing and has been for the past 13 hours.
Lily's school were off today because the heating had broken but hopefully they should have it fixed for Monday.
So it was out with the sledge of off she went with her Big Brother.
They didn't stay out long though as it was blowing a blizzard.
It was hot chocolate and homemade biscuits when they got back.
I managed to get some baking done earlier in the day

Chocolate Ginger Cakes

Anzac Biscuits

I have been sewing this week but it's for my swaps so no pics yet!
The weathermen say it's going to snow for a few more days. So it's lots more sewing for me :)

Back Into The Swing Again

At last I am back to my sewing. I went to my class on Monday night in Hilton and used my machine  {yay} ! I got five blocks done from my Duck Duck Goose Quilt so I am well over two thirds done :)
I couldn't believe how many new members we had got, the room was bursting at the seams. All very friendly though!

I have also joined two swaps
'Initial Heart Swap' hosted by  Cheryll at Gone Stitchin' .This one is now closed.

'Cosy Winter Stitches' hosted by Lainey@ Stitched With Love Exchanges Still open until January 13th

I am well into the Heart swap item. I can't post any pics until my partner receives it but the hand sewing is going really well. Little and often.

Well I hope you all have a good weekend whatever you are doing.

I Made My Pledge

This is my first post of the year and as I have been MIA since before Christmas I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

I am hoping to get back to sewing this week after my hand op so lets see how it goes (fingers crossed).
I have been so frustrated not being able to do much. I
would like to thank you everyone who sent me messages and left comments wishing me well. THANK YOU xxx

I did a couple of swaps hosted by Cheryll @ Gone Stitchin' last year and I'm hoping to do more this year. She was asking people to take her Swapping Integrity Pledge. So here goes........

I Melanie Moore will try my utmost...
·        To always swap on time.
·        To always email a THANK YOU to my partner.
·        To be considerate and thoughtful when choosing a gift.
·        To give my partner the quality of gift that I would like to receive.
·        To communicate when it’s required.
·        To NEVER over commit and let a partner down.
·        To advise the swap mama when I receive my gift.

Here's to a productive week. Melanie xxxx

Thank you very much. Here are the wonderful things she sent me.
I am so looking forward to using them when my hand is back in full working order. which I hope won't be long, not being able to sew is driving me crazy.

I would like to thank Cheryll
who arranged the swap. I have really enjoyed it.

Final Day of One week of Christmas

Well it's the final day and I have really enjoyed sharing some of my Christmas photos with you. I would like to say a big thankyou to Cheryll @ Gone Stitchin for hosting the link.

The quilt I made a couple of years ago in a bit of a hurry. A friend came around admiring a Christmas Log Cabin quilt I had on the back of my sofa. So that one went home with her and I didn't have much time to make another. I really like it though.

My two cutie cushions I made when I first started quilting. All the snow on them is embellished using fabric glitter glue. All the quilting is done in golden thread.

This garland was made as a gift a few Christmases ago by Pat and I put it on my recipe book shelf every year.

I've loved hopping over to other blogs to see how other people decorate for Christmas.
