Yarndale

It's not long now! Less than 24 hours and we'll be there.
I've been looking forward to this trip, as I couldn't go last year.
So Suzzette and I are off on our girlie day out.
We're even letting the train take the strain, so no driving either.
Bliss.
It's going to be an early start at 6am but it's worth it.
A whole day dedicated to yarn :)
They've got their very own buses. We'll be using one of these from the station to the show.
The bunting is up and looking really good.
I'm looking forward to the Yarn Walk on the way back to the station. I love yarn bombing it really makes me smile.

I also joined Betty's From My Home to Yours swap.
These are the goodies I sent to my partner at Peonies and Pennies
A Denby Pottery mug from just down the road (lots of Denby at my house as I worked there many moons ago. )
Thorntons Chocolates, A Bakewell Pudding Tea towel, regional Postcards and a cross stitched Lavender heart hanger made with Cath Kidston fabrics and dried Lavender from my garden.
I hope she likes them.

Halloween Quilt Progress

I've been doing a lot of secret sewing this week for swaps I'm in so I can't show those, but I can show you the progress I've made on my Halloween Quilt.
I'm not following a pattern. I'm just making it up as I go along.
So I have no idea what it will end up looking like or how big it's going to be.
So it will be as much of a surprise to me as it is to you.
We'll just have to wait and see.

I'm off to my sewing room now for a little more fabric therapy.

FNWF The Results

My FNWF post is a bit late this month as I spent Saturday and Sunday on my friends Hen Weekend at a Spa. It was a lovely relaxing time. We all had a really great time and I'm really looking forward to her Wedding in two weeks.

Back to Friday.

I spent the first half of the evening making alterations to Lily's school uniform. Ready for school today. She looked really nice as she went to school this morning. I bet she doesn't look the same when I pick her up later. I'm not sure what they do all day to come out looking as dishevelled as they do!

I then made a start on my Witches Boot inspired quilt.
I didn't actually do any sewing on it but there was an awful lot of cutting and ironing done.
I'm pleased with the design so far but I've just got to decide what sort of background to use.
I'm thinking I might use all different backgrounds.

Witches Boot

I've joined  Lia's Trick or Treat Swap  Flickr group .
It's a secret swap but as our partners haven't got a clue who we are we get to talk and post about our makes.
Everyone has to make a drawstring bag ( Lia gave us the pattern) but we had to choose what sort of design went on it. I decided on this Witches Boot a free tutorial over at Sharon Sews they were treat bags, I just adapted the pattern for applique.
Now we get to fill it with Halloween goodies. Halloween sweets, fabric, thread, ribbons, zips etc. All in Halloween colours.
My Sassy Witches Boot

It inspired me to start a Halloween throw for the sofa. Like I need anything else to do!
I love the fussy cut boot bottom with the spider and it's web.

Anyway I'm off to clear my Craft Room as it looks like a tornado has hit it.

Happy crafting
