Holiday

Easter Holiday on the Yorkshire Coast

We had a lovely time at Honeysuckle Farm near Hornsea. Lily was a bit nervous about feeding the animals at first but soon got over her fear. The scraggy goose in the photos took a dislike to me and hissed   at me and chased me down the field. It looks like butter wouldn't melt but it was so aggressive.

These were taken at Flamborough Head it was a lovely day. Lily hadn't been feeling too well but she really enjoyed the walk.

I really liked the scrabble tea towel and all the other bits and bobs that Kimberley sent me in her parcel .
I'm going to use the spotty mug in my sewing room with the heart coasters. Thank you Kimberley.

The beautiful basket that Mellie made for me in the Nautical Swap. It has pockets around the inside andwas filled with sewing bits. I love the anchor charms she has used around the edge. Thanks Mellie.

A Couple of Swaps

I know it has been quite a while since I last posted , but I have been away on holiday.
Before I went away I had two swaps to post out:
Nautical Swap  by House of Pinheiro.
I Was partnered with Mellie from Mellies Workroom
I made her a Beach Hut Table Topper / Wall Hanging and sent a Wooden Heart with an anchor on it.

The other swap was a Kitchen Swap By Kimberley at Creative Chaos
I was partnered with Kimberley the handmade item I made was an Oven Mitt, I also sent some Cow corn holders which I love and she nearly didn't get, a tea towel and some Thorntons Continental Chocolates.

I will post the photos of the gifts they sent as soon as I get chance to take them.
I have mountains of washing to do now I am back from Holiday! So I had better set to it :(

Mmmmm Chocolate Cake

Well it has been snowing non-stop for the last 36 hours. I thought I would have a sewing day but things conspired and I ended up baking Chocolate Cake and Cheese Scones. We are really looking forward to tea though! :)

I met up for a sewing evening in the week with a few friend. But when I got there I ended up having a go at needle felting. I love it.
I made what is going to be an easter chick for my tree I just need to give it some eyes, a beak and legs.

I'm going to make this into a pin for my bag when it has been embellished .

This one is an easter egg for the tree just needs a few beads.

I think I have found a new obsession.

Bunny Cross Stitch

I have been cross stitching this week and have finished a couple of gifts which I can't post pictures of yet, but here is the Easter Bunny picture I made for myself.

With all the snow that has been forecast for the next two days I decided that I would put some of my Easter decs out to remind me it is spring and not the middle of winter. I have a few more bits to put on the tree but here's how it looks at the moment.
Let's hope the weathermen are wrong this time.

Getting Ready For Easter

I have been really busy this week.
I've made an Easter throw for the back of my sofa.
One of my favourite blocks is rail fence so I chose that one.
I really like log cabin too but I am making a quilt for my son using that one so I thought I would have a change

This is the table runner. I used charm squares from the Moda  "It's a Hoot" range I have had them in my drawer for ages so I thought I would use some of them for this runner.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. I used loops of white wool for it's cottontail.
I'm undecided whether or not to give them an eye or just leave them as they are. There is a bunny on each end of the runner. I've named them Billie & Bob.

Hope you all have a very crafty week. Melanie  xxx
